Interactive 360° Tornado Probe Footage: Deployment, Big Hail, and Near-Intercept!
Duration: 8:56
On May 18, 2025, in the small rural town of Arnett, Oklahoma, a highly photogenic supercell dropped a beautiful tornado, which thankfully caused no injuries and minimal damage. Along with folks like @PecosHank and @ReedTimmerWx (pretty sure we passed his Dominator vehicle), I was lucky enough to view and film this amazing storm with one of my chase partners, Mason. But we didn't just film with our phones and cameras...we dropped a 100-pound concrete tornado probe right in front of it with a 360 camera mounted on top, and this is the video that probe captured! It unfortunately didn't take a direct hit (we were about a quarter mile off), but the video still seemed awesome enough to share on LabCoatz!
