Making Corrosive Piranha Solution From Walmart Chemicals | Peroxymonosulfuric Acid Synthesis
Duration: 1:57
Television depictions of acids are often...exaggerated. Most corrosive chemicals won't dissolve away metal and flesh within seconds, and often take minutes or hours to fully react. But if there is one acid that truly fits Hollywood's bill, it's Piranha solution (or Caro's acid). This highly destructive acid can dissolve almost anything you throw at it within seconds, leaving almost no trace or residue! Sounds like it would be pretty exotic, right? Well...it's not. In fact, you can make almost half a liter of it from chemicals available at your local supermarket! And in this video, I'll show you how. WARNING: Piranha solution is EXTREMELY dangerous. It can burn your skin off as fast as a blowtorch, and should only be handled with proper safety equipment. I take no responsibility for harm caused by people trying this experiment themselves. As I always like to say, you can try this at home...just be safe!
