Coming 36 years after the original Tony Scott film, Joseph Kosinski's sequel hit movie theaters in 2022, featuring Cruise returning as Maverick to train a new batch of recruits, including Teller's Rooster, Goose's son, for a dangerous mission. The film was massive hit critically and commercially and Top Gun 3 development was subsequently confirmed, but few concrete updates have emerged on the project since. During a recent interview with Collider, Teller speaks briefly about Top Gun 3, revealing that he has spoken to Cruise about it.
