Check out PCBgogo and their sweet deals here: https://www.pcbgogo.com/promo/LS To celebrate passing 5,000 subscribers, I've decided to build the world's most powerful type of non-nuclear EMP: the flux compression generator! To power it, however, I will need a rather monumental pulse of electricity. So in today's short video, I'll be showing how I built my own megawatt power pulser for under $40! Be sure to check out the part 2 video where I demo this build here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJuo-cXzYws Like what you see? Consider donating or becoming a channel patron on Patreon! It costs as little as a cup of coffee: https://www.patreon.com/LabCoatz https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/labcoatz For those curious, this device is a 700 joule solenoid-triggered capacitor bank rated at 4,500V and 65uF. It's not the largest bank in the world, but it is still fully capable of pulsing 4,500V at several kiloamps...more than enough to kill you. If you attempt to emulate anything shown in this video, you do so at your own risk. This thing is basically a defibrillator capacitor, but with double the voltage. A shock from a bank of this size won't be something you walk away from easily! 0:00 Intro 0:16 5,000 subscriber special! 0:51 Capacitor selection 1:24 Assembling the bank 2:03 PCBgogo sponsorship segment 2:33 Design overview 3:03 Operation 3:46 Upcoming demo! 3:54 Conclusion
